The Great divide is a brewer I have come across once before. Their Belgica is a cross between a Belgian ale and an IPA. At 7.2% it deserves respect but one could be forgiven for drinking too many as it does not feel like a 7.2% beer. It is a little odd and hard to describe. If you have had the wonderful Schneider-Brooklyn collaboration, Hopfenweisse then you know the sort of beer it is. In this case, it's a Belgian wheat meets American IPA.
Personally I found it a little bit wrong, I could not put my finger on what was wrong but it just felt like something did not quite work out in terms of balance. Hopfenweisse this is not, but for what it actually is it will do the job.
I enjoyed this beer very much, I just found myself wanting a Hopfenweisse instead.
