Slaters is brewery that we don't see much (if at all) of over here. I brought these back from the beer bloggers conference.
Slater's bitter is a 4.4% bog standard bitter.
Nice toffee profile but otherwise it's a little dull. Slight metallic finish. Somewhat bitter. An Ok beer but dull as many bitters tend to be.
Queen Bee on the other hand is a 4.2% honey ale, as the name suggests. Some honey as expected but more bitter than I expected as well. Cereal notes with a dry finish. Quite nice actually, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
Keep an eye out for some Top Totty while you're at it. It's a lovely Blonde
