What's An IPA Hybrid anyway?

Williams Brothers Caesar Augustus is a lager - IPA hybrid with an ABV of 4.1% It's clean and certainly like a lager. Lots of lemon citrus.  Not too fizzy either as most lagers tend to be. Very nice beer actually and I reckon I could drink a lot of this. I suppose it is really a lager hopped with American C hops like Brooklyn lager.

Staying with Scotland, the 7.4% Innis and Gunn Irish whiskey cask is not bad but a little too sweet and artificial for me. Oaky vanilla sweetness dominates what seems like a rather dull stout. I didn't dislike it but neither would I buy it again. Of course Innis and Gunne is a somewhat controversial brewery. Some people love them* and others can't stand the beer. I like some and dislike others, pretty much like any brewery really.

On Thursday I head to the US for 3 weeks of beervana starting with a week of Michigan, moving to Chicago, perhaps a day trip to Indiana (3 Floyds) and then 2 whole weeks in Colorado. Should be fun.

* Otherwise they would be out of business

  2. I'm not sure what I will manage to get back. I'm limited to 23kg but since I am going for 3 weeks, I will need to bring plenty of clothes etc.

The last time I held an American beer night at my place but I got 18 bottles home that time. I was only there for 5 o 6 days that time and had plenty of luggage space.
